I’ve tried a lot of weird things for the sake of beauty, from using a lip vacuum cleaner to try and fake a plump pout to sprinkling my dull locks with a bottle of IPA beer to give back shine after a bleach job gone wrong. One thing I never imagined doing, however, is smearing hot candle wax all over my body in the hopes of getting supple skin, but alas, here I am.

Before you assume this skincare-candle hybrid is some kink culture product or sexy Valentine’s Day gadget, listen to me because Apparently treatment candles are the latest innovation in the beauty and well-being space. Guess you’re either intrigued or horrified at this point, so I’m going to go ahead and continue with my review of the Neom Organics Skin Treatment Candles.

To provide much needed context here, I’ve been a huge fan of Neom’s luxury candle line for quite some time now, but I have to admit – when I stumbled across their skin treatment candle, I was a little hesitant – no to mention a little confused. But, in the name of beauty (and my job, of course), I thought I had to give it a try for myself. Spoiler alert: it’s not scary, painful, or weird at all (unless you want to).

In fact, it’s the ultimate personal care product that I have subconsciously dreamed of existing for the past year or so (I mean, let’s face it: we could all use a little more TLC after the dumpster fire from a year that was 2020.)

Basically you just light the candle as you normally would, wait 10 or 15 minutes for the skincare grade wax to soften and turn into a liquid, then you are ready to drizzle this delicious wax-oil formula that improves skin. . all over the skin – do not forget to extinguish the flame. Clearly, Neom’s Skincare treatment candle is not formulated with old candle wax. The soybean oil base is infused with not only twenty-four different anti-stress essential oils, but also a host of skin-nourishing ingredients including jojoba oil, cocoa butter, almond oil and rapeseed oil.

Neom Organics Intensive Skin Care Candle

It probably goes without saying, but this candle also smells of heaven on earth, that is, lavender, jasmine and Brazilian rosewood.

Full disclosure: while I was a little worried about getting burned, rest assured it was not a problem. In fact, it was one of the most relaxing nights I have had in a hot minute (pun intended). Neom recommends doing this overnight too – take a hot bath, pour a glass of wine and get ready to have the softest skin ever after a massage in the hydrating oil and inhale the relaxing blend of aromas. anti-anxiety.

Neom offers two versions of its skincare candle: the Perfume to de-stress and perfume to sleep. I tried the de-stressing version, and as someone with an apparent inability to fully relax, I found it to really do the trick.
